St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will resume its Annual Noon Advent Concert series next week, offering three Tuesdays of seasonal music for the community.
The series opens Dec. 9 from 12:05 - 12:55 p.m. with performances by the Delta High School Women’s Choir, Sonus, and the school’s guitar ensemble under the direction of Thomas Neil. Neil, who has taught choir at Delta Middle and Delta High School since 2022, holds degrees in music business and vocal performance from Colorado Mesa University. In addition to teaching, he co-directs the high school theater program with Jason Atchely and performs locally with his wife, Beki. The couple also serve as worship pastors at Rivers Church in Delta.
The Dec. 16 concert will feature traditional music by members of Delta’s Karen community. Guitarist, singer and songwriter Rob Wolcott is scheduled to perform on Dec. 23.
Organizers encourage attendees to bring a sack lunch to enjoy during the midday concerts, which are designed to provide a brief weekly respite leading up to Christmas.
